A controller card connects your floppy drive and hard drive. Newer PCs have their floppy controller built into the motherboard. Newer hard drives have their controllers built into the hard drive.

Memory cards allow you to install more RAM. You should only do this AFTER you have filled up all your memory slots on your motherboard. Remember, memory cards are slow, and should only be used as a last resort.
